Launch Complex 29 was built in support of Navy Polaris missile testing. The complex was built at a cost of about $1 million. Construction began in August, 1958 with the site occupied by the Navy in July, 1959. The site’s blockhouse has been converted for office space, and the original launch pad still exists.
